I'm Audrey Oglesby, a hairstylist and co-owner of a salon in Kansas City, MO called Electric Chapel. I'd describe myself as being "part wild animal and part intellectual". I've been a professionally licensed Cosmetologist since 2008, have a degree in Entrepreneurship, hold professional certifications in the brands I choose to work with, and am constantly practicing classic skills and modern techniques.

As a Thick Hair Specialist and someone who has very dense, naturally wavy hair, I understand how important shaping, thinning out, layering, and debulking is. I focus on creating haircuts that work with your situation and remain flattering as they grow out. I am extremely comfortable working with all hair types and textures and related concerns including dryness, needing volume, flaking/dandruff, oily scalp, heat/chemical damage, frizz, split ends, thinning/hair loss, Psoriasis, and gender affirmation, etc. You can feel comfortable being you without being judged because I value you for your authentic self and only have your best interests at heart. 

While you could see anyone, I see my role as your stylist a bit differently. When you're at the salon, you'll often get to hear a hilarious story or take part in a heartfelt conversation with a good playlist in the background. I am completely focused on you and your needs during every appointment whether you need to bitch about life, get some "hair therapy", share your chaotic and unhinged sense of humor, or just zone out and disassociate. I take notes so that we can work together to create a realistic and customized long-term hair care plan to maximize your color, cut, style for the healthiest hair that uniquely suits your hair type and texture. I see you, I hear you, and I remember details about you and your life. It is really important to me that we build a relationship so that I help prioritize meeting your needs. Let's check in throughout the year to see if any new issues have come up and we'll work through them together, same team.

The kind of haircuts I love doing the most vary from clipper cuts, pixies, bobs, shags, and flattering layers in any length. My favorite color appointments can range from blending/covering greys, vibrant coppers, and any dark hair fantasy. I absolutely love customizing balayage, blonding, and vivids in all colors of the rainbow. I'm newly certified in DreamCatchers beaded wefts, k-tips, i-tips, and tape-in hair extensions methods whether you are looking for a pop of color, volume, and/or length.

When I'm not in the salon, I am a student of life and contstantly furthering my education.  I obsessively attend Reformer Pilates at Bodybar, listen to true crime podcasts, love to budget and make lists, go on hot girl walks with my wild 13-year-old Boston Terrier, cook tasty meals with my husband, and chill in front of the tv while I scroll TikTok.
